About Me
When I bought my first camera back in 2007, my mom got really upset with me. As a student on a budget trying to finish up my degree in Multimedia Design and Technology from Fanshawe, she felt I had spent far too much money on something that would only remain an occasional hobby.
Now, I bought my first camera because my brother, an accomplished musician, wanted promotional shots for his upcoming release. As I was looking through my viewfinder suggesting poses and adjusting the lighting, I felt this amazing sense of power and responsbility as though I were the director of a movie…except this movie was “real life.”
It was then I realized just how much I loved taking photos, but it wasn’t just about clicking the camera, it was about capturing “life” and bringing out the best in people.
I’m a strong believer in turning negativity into a motivating force. Admittedly, my mom’s anger acted as the impetus for my career. I felt I had something to prove – to show my family and anyone who had ever doubted my capabilities that photography for me was my dream and passion.
As a photographer, the most important thing to me is to instill comfort, confidence and creativity within those I work with. If anything even feels remotely negative about one of my shoots, I’ll take every effort possible to change this immediately as no one looks their best when their mood is not optimal.
I am blessed to have had the success I have and I look forward to capturing the beauty that is you.
